Funded by the Youth Endowment Fund, Fostering Connections is one of four large-scale programmes which aim to find out whether trauma-informed practice is effective at keeping children and young people safe from violence.
Fostering Connections offers a transformative trauma-informed and reflective practice training programme for supervising social workers and social workers of children and young people aged 10-18 living in family-based care.
Here you can find our two eLearning courses which are offered to foster carers and social workers within local authorities undertaking the training programme.
Please note that there are two separate courses and you only need to complete the course that is relevant to your role:
- Introduction to trauma-informed principles for foster carers
-
Introduction to trauma-informed principles for social workers
The eLearning is fully interactive, however at times you will be asked to make notes in your learning log, which you can download on our digital learning platform. Each course will take around 20-30 minutes to complete.
You will need to create an account on our digital learning platform using your email address to access the training. Please select 'Register' below.
